​ The result is a film that shows the falsehoods and agitation against non-native plants alternating with the footage taken in the garden. The film shows how nature conservation is misused. This is followed by background information on how the movie came about.

​The film: Background information

 Application within the framework of the project "New European Bauhaus: Transformation of Learning Places"  
​ The European Union has identified the issues of "combating hate speech and disinformation" and media literacy as the main concerns.      

​ Combating hate speech and disinformation, quotes from the European Union:   
​ In her 2021 State of the European Union address, Commission President von der Leyen stressed that progress in the fight against racism and hatred is a tender plant and that now is the time for change and for a Union where condemnation matters and action is even more important. All forms and manifestations of hatred and intolerance are incompatible with the values on which the EU is founded ...

​Combating disinformation on the internet
​ "The Commission is fighting the spread of disinformation and misinformation online to ensure the protection of European values and democratic systems... The spread of both disinformation and misinformation can have a number of harmful consequences, such as threatening our democracies, polarizing debates ..."     

​ Media Literacy
​ "Media literacy has never been more important." 
​ "Media literacy concerns different media and distribution methods. It is a crucial skill for all citizens regardless of age, as it empowers them and raises their awareness. It also helps to counteract the effects of disinformation campaigns and fake news that spreads through digital media."  

​ The bamboo project covers exactly the areas mentioned by the EU: 
- Combating hatred and incitement 
- Combating disinformation 
- Development of media literacy 

  ​ Application
​ We applied as part of the project "New European Bauhaus: Transformation of Learning Places" and were full of confidence that we would now be able to draw attention to ecocide at the European level. Initially, our project description was still visible on the dashboard, but after a short time our project description was deleted. When asked, we did not receive a reason. At present, after more than a year, our project is once again visible on the dashboard.

  ​ ​The extent of the ecocide has probably not been recognised.
​In Germany alone, ecocide affects around 17 million private gardens, more than 60,000 industrial estates and all public green spaces.

The idea: A movie for millions of garden owners  
​ If the people's representatives are not interested in ecocide, perhaps the citizens are. That's how we came up with the idea of putting together a kind of movie: the research results are presented alternately with beautiful insect shots.        .        

​ Ecocide is an example of how untruths is imprinted in society and what role non-governmental organisations, political parties, the media, public broadcasting, the church, ministries and the EU play in this.  

​ ​Take a look at the film and see for yourself how untruths affect our society and legislation.    

​ To a certain extent, the non-native plants only take on a kind of placeholder role. It can be any "elements of our society" that are blamed and must therefore be removed from our society.
